FERRY ROAD MARKETS

The Brickworks Centre was a failed bulky goods centre. It suffered from high vacancy and a poor tenancy mix. However the site was in a good location close to schools and we could see tremendous potential in the land.

What some may have considered a high-risk strategy, we decided to create a retail destination, which, from our analysis of the surrounding areas, was lacking. Using the back corner of the site, we introduced Ferry Road Markets. We hand selected retail tenants that were in demand in the area: florist, seafood, bakery, butcher, deli, grocer and liquor store.

With the increased foot traffic from the Ferry Road Markets, the remainder of the centre became an everyday centre for all other retail needs.

We fully leased the site, tripled rents over a 10-year period and created Gold Coast’s most popular retail precinct with shoppers driving for up to an hour to get there.
